Just listened to this story on NPR and I've gotta say,  I am planning to haunt the shit out of you people when I die.  Only in a  good way though! :)

...eh, not always. When I lived in Okinawa I had a friend whose house, it turned out, was next to a crematorium. There would be smoke from it drifting through her back yard at times. Okinawa's already a pretty haunted place but she had some kind of spirit highway running through her house. And apparently she ticked off one spirit because it started causing problems around the house and she had to get a priestess come to the house to clear it plus make several temple visits. Her bed used to shake and levitate. Which is only cool when it happens in the movies or on Ghost Hunters, not in real life.
